Hans Kristian Goldstein

Hans Kristian Goldstein was born near Oslo in 1988 and began playing the cello at the age of eleven. He has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras since winning a competition at the age of sixteen to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Goldstein has appeared on NRK Television in Norway and recorded for radio throughout Europe, as well as in the United States and in Africa. He was named “New Artist of the Month” in the April 2010 issue of Musical America and a solo recital was cited as one of Baltimore’s ten top musical events in 2010 by the Baltimore Sun. In January 2010, he made a debut at the Weill Concert Hall of Carnegie Hall in New York City. His engagements during the 2011–2012 season include soloist debuts with Trondheim Symphony and Bergen Philharmonic and re-invitation by ABC foundation to play at a Carnegie hall gala. Mr. Goldstein frequently visits Oslo to fulfill an internship in the cello section of the Oslo Philharmonic and has commenced studies for Ralph Kirshbaum at the Universtiy of Southern California, in Los Angeles for this fall of 2012.
